Twilight Leads MTV Movie Awards Nominations

It's vampires versus slumdogs for the coveted Golden Popcorn trophy at this year's MTV Movie Awards.
Nominations for the 2009 event with Twilightleading the list, nabbing seven nominations including best movie, best female performance for and breakthrough performance male nods for costars and .
But the vampire hotties face stiff competition against the Oscar-winning Indian romance Slumdog Millionaire, which received six nominations, including best movie, breakthrough performance female for Freida Pinto and breakthrough performance male for Dev Patel.
In the best kiss category, and James McAvoy are nominated forWanted as well as the fan favorite honor, but will have to slay the vampires and the slumdogs before taking home the gold.
For the first time this year, nominations were selected by the fans and MTV introduced two brand-new categories – best song from a movie and best WTF moment from an outrageous scene in a movie.
The 18th annual movie awards will be hosted by Saturday Night Live star Andy Samberg with rapper Eminem set to take the stage at the starstudded affair airing live from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, Calif., on May 31.
